Panadol Menstrual Caplet

When you need relief from period pain, Panadol Menstrual provides effective relief of menstrual pain and discomforts.

Panadol Menstrual contains paracetamol (500mg per caplet) which has pain relieving and fever reducing properties, and Pamabrom (25mg per caplet) which acts a diuretic.

Panadol Menstrual Caplets relieves menstrual pain and is used for the symptomatic relief of:

  • Bloating
  • Water-weight gain
  • Fever
  • Mild to moderate pain including headaches, backache and muscular aches and pains prior to menstruation and during menstruation

They are pink, film-coated capsule-shaped caplet with "PANADOL" embossment on both side of the tablet.

How to use
The caplets in Panadol Menstrual Caplet should be swallowed whole with water.

Always read and follow all directions on the product label prior to use, and talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you’re not sure whether this medicine is right for you.

Children aged 10 to 12 years can use 1 Panadol Suppository every 4-6 hours as required. Do not exceed the maximum of 4 suppositories in a 24-hour period. Do not use for more than 48 hours except on medical advice.

Panadol Suppositories are not recommended for children under 12 years of age. 

Dosage

Age Dosage
Women, who menstruate, 12 years and older 1-2 caplets every 4-6 hours as required (up to a maximum of 8 caplets in any 24-hour period)

Children: Not for use in children less than 12 years.

Women who do not menstruate: Not for use in women who do not menstruate.

Men: Not for use in men.

Maximum duration of use: from 5 days before to 5 days after onset of menses, up to 10 days in total.

Do not take more than recommended dose as it may cause serious harm to your liver.

Always read and follow the label.

Check with your doctor before use if you:

  • Have liver or kidney problems.
  • Are underweight or malnourished.
  • Regularly drink alcohol.

You may need to avoid using this product altogether or limit the amount of paracetamol that you take.

Check with your doctor before use if you:

  • have a severe infection, are severely malnourished, severely underweight or are a chronic heavy alcohol user as this may increase the risk of metabolic acidosis.

Signs of metabolic acidosis include:

  • deep, rapid, difficult breathing
  • feeling sick (nausea), being sick (vomiting)
  • Loss of appetite

Contact a doctor immediately if you get a combination of these symptoms.

Before taking this medicine, make sure you consult your doctor if you are receiving treatment for high blood pressure or cardiac failure, or take ‘water pills’ also known as diuretics.

Please see your doctor if your symptoms do not improve.

This preparation contains PARACETAMOL. Do not take any other paracetamol containing medicines at the same time.

Do not use if:

  • you are allergic to paracetamol, pamabrom or any of the other ingredients in the product.
  • you are unable to urinate
  • you are pregnant or breast-feeding

ALLERGY ALERT: Paracetamol may cause severe skin reactions. Symptoms may include skin reddening, blisters and rash. These could be signs of a serious condition. If these reactions occur, stop use and seek medical assistance right away.

Keep out of reach of children.
