The right dosage of Panadol Chewable Tablets to give your child will depend on their age and/or weight. Use our simple Children’s Panadol dosage chart below to match your child's weight (or their age if you don’t know their weight) to the correct dose for that group.

If your child weighs less than 14kg (or is under 3 years of age) or more than 41kg, please consult your doctor about adjusting the paracetamol dose to suit them.

Do not give your child more than 4 doses of Panadol Chewable Tablets for their age/weight group in one day or within any 24-hour period unless directed to do so by a healthcare professional.

Do not give Panadol Chewable Tablets to any child under the age of 3 years.

3 – 6 Years 14 – 19 kg 2 tablets Every 4-6 hours as required (maximum 4 doses in 24 hours).
6 – 9 Years 20 – 27 kg 2 – 3 tablets Every 4-6 hours as required (maximum 4 doses in 24 hours).
9 – 11 Years 28 – 35 kg 3 – 4 tablets Every 4-6 hours as required (maximum 4 doses in 24 hours).
11 – 12 Years 36 – 41 kg 4 – 5 tablets Every 4-6 hours as required (maximum 4 doses in 24 hours).

How to use Panadol Chewable Tablets

Panadol Chewable Tablets are easy to use. Simply place the tablets in your child’s mouth for them to either chew or leave to dissolve in their mouth. The taste of the tablets is improved if the tablet is dissolved rather than chewed.

Ingredientsi

Active ingredient: paracetamol. Panadol Chewable Tablets contain 120mg paracetamol per tablet.

Children’s Panadol products do not contain sugar.

Warnings and precautions for usei

  • Always read the product label before use and do not exceed the recommended dose.
  • Panadol rarely has side effects when taken at the recommended dose, however if your child does experience any side effects as a result of taking Panadol Chewable Tablets, stop use immediately and consult a healthcare professional.
  • Panadol Chewable Tablets contain paracetamol. They should not be used alongside any other products that contain paracetamol, as combining paracetamol-based medicines may lead to an overdose. Always read the product label on any other medication you plan to give your child in combination with Panadol before use, and consult with a doctor or pharmacist to check that it is safe to do so.
  • Note that Panadol Chewable Tablets contain saccharin and mannitol (6.4g/20 tablets) which may have a laxative effect or cause diarrhoea.
  • Keep out of sight and reach of children.
